Odd-Even Trial Of Bogor Peak Route Extended

CIBINONG - The Bogor Resort Police has extended the trial period for the implementation of traffic engineering for the odd-even vehicle system on the Puncak Line, Bogor Regency, West Java this weekend.

"We will continue the odd-even trial, while waiting for regulations from the Ministry of Transportation," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Harun as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 15.

According to him, the route connecting Bogor Regency with Cianjur Regency has the status of a national road, so all policies regarding traffic regulation on that route are with the central government.

Harun said that the trial for implementing the odd-even system this weekend was the same as the trials on the previous two weekends, from Friday afternoon to midnight Sunday.

The number of inspection locations is still the same at eight points, namely Pasir Angin Intersection, Ciawi Toll Gate, Gadog Intersection, Rainbow Hills, Cibanon flow closure post, Dam flow closure post, and two locations in the Sentul area.

Previously, the Director General (Dirjen) of Land Relations of the Ministry of Transportation Budi Setiyadi admitted that he was still formulating a new legal umbrella regarding traffic engineering on the Puncak Line, by accommodating various inputs, including from Puncak residents.

"The first option is odd-even and there are several other options. But all of them are still under study. We also want to hear input from the residents of Puncak," said Budi after a hearing with Bogor Regent Ade Yasin and representatives of residents at the Regent's Pendopo Wednesday, September 8.

According to him, the one-way traffic engineering, which has been implemented at Puncak, is tired of continuing to be implemented, so the odd-even option can be a substitute for one way.

"When the regulations are completed, we will conduct socialization. In addition to traffic engineering, we also want to reduce the public's dependence on private vehicles to switch to public transportation, which is currently still being discussed," said Budi.
