Telkom Ensures The PeduliLindungi App Data Is Safe And No Foreign Intervention

JAKARTA - Telkom Indonesia Senior Vice President Corporate Communication & Investor Relations Ahmad Reza ensures that the PeduliLindungi application is made in the country and the data contained in it is not held by other countries.

This was conveyed to clarify Peter F Gontha's statement in his social media which said the PeduliLindung application was made in Singapore and the data contained in it was recorded in the Lion Country.

"PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. ensures the authenticity and security of the PeduliLindung platform as an application that is 100 percent made by the best Indonesian people", Reza said in a written statement quoted on Wednesday, September 15.

He said the data contained in the application was in the National Data Center (PDN) managed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology located in Indonesia. Its security is also ensured to be carried out optimally.

"The data security at PeduliLindungi is ensured to have run optimally and comprehensively by all policymakers such as the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Ministry of Health, and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN)", said Reza.

He explained that the PeduliLindung application is a collaboration between the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Communication and Information, and the Ministry of Health where Telkom Indonesia acts as a developer.

In developing applications, continued Reza, his party also always takes best practices from other countries that already have digital tracing applications. He also ensured that the development was carried out without interference from other parties, especially foreigners.

"Development of PeduliLindungi will continue to be carried out, in order to create optimal comfort for the community", he said.

Furthermore, Reza said the PeduliLindungi application was the government's effort in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the public is asked to reduce the production and distribution of hoaxes related to this application so that conditions remain safe and conducive.

"The issue of data security processed by PeduliLindungi is clear, where all data is ensured to be maintained and processed independently by Indonesia", he said.

"We hope that the entire community, figures, and social media activists can be wiser and more careful when submitting arguments or opinions regarding data security to PeduliLindung. All opinions submitted must be based on clear evidence and facts, so as not to mislead the public and hinder Indonesia's efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic", said Reza.
