The Chronology Of Rimbun Air Cargo Plane That Was Lost Contact In Intan Jaya Regency

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) confirmed the loss of contact with the Rimbun Air Cargo series Twin Otter 300 PK-OTW in Intan Jaya Regency, Wednesday, September 15.

"We received information that on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 07.37 a.m. local time, there had been a loss of contact with the Rimbun Air PK-OTW plane in the Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency", said Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Adita Irawati in a statement monitored in Jakarta, reported by Antara.

Adita explained the chronology of the incident, namely at 06.40 a.m., the plane took off from Nabire Regency to Intan Jaya Regency with cargo (building materials).

At 07.30 a.m., Airnav Sugapa made the last communication with the pilot before losing contact.

Until now there is no communication with the Rimbun Air PK-OTW aircraft

Adita said that the identity of the flight crew included Hj. Mirza (Pilot), Fajar (Copilot), and Iswahyudi (technician).

She added that currently, the Merauke Region X Airport Authority Office is coordinating with the Security Apparatus Team and the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) in conducting a search for the missing plane.

"We will report further developments at the first opportunity", she said.

The Intan Jaya Police Chief, Sandi Sultan, who was contacted from Jayapura, confirmed that while admitting that the joint SAR team was currently conducting a search. "Currently the work is being carried out", said Sandi Sultan.
