Praised By Jokowi's Son, Anies: Thank You Very Much, Mas Gibran, In Fact It Is A Compliment For All

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the praise from President Joko Widodo's son, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka was intended for all stakeholders in the capital.

"Indeed, this is a compliment to all. So, it is not only addressed to the governor, but also to joint work," Anies said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 14.

Anies gave an example of the joint work, including the Kapolda Metro Jaya, Kajati DKI Jakarta and Pangdam Jaya who collaborated with the same target and thanks to the handling went well, as well as vaccinations according to plan.

"We are very grateful to Mas Gibran, the Mayor for paying attention to Jakarta and monitoring what we are doing here," said Anies.

Anies also praised Gibran as mayor for his 98 percent vaccination achievement in Solo.

"It's not something simple because we know exactly the complexity of carrying out the vaccination process. So, Solo can reach 98 percent, Mas Gibran's leadership shows that there is a big effort," said Anies.

He is optimistic about the new generation that Gibran has shown in handling COVID-19 and various other sectors.

In addition to the younger generation in the field of handling COVID-19, Anies added that young people show potential in other sectors such as business organizations, government, and others to build a better Indonesia.

Anies emphasized that the "key" of handling COVID-19 is collaboration, cooperation, and cohesiveness so that the size and target are the same.

Previously, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka praised Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria.

Gibran's praise was delivered while attending the PWNU DKI blood donor event, Saturday, September 11.

On social media Twitter, a video of Gibran praising Anies was widely circulated.

Gibran's praise for Anies cannot be separated from DKI Jakarta's success in dealing with COVID-19 and also in matters of vaccination.

"What I'm using as a pilot is definitely Jakarta. Jakarta's vaccinations are already above 100 percent. Solo must also catch up," said Gibran.
