Case Files Of Three Suspects In The Sinking Of KMP Yunicee Transferred To The Banyuwangi Prosecutor's Office

BANYUWANGI - Investigators from the Polairud Police Directorate have handed over the files of three suspects in the KMP Yunicee sinking case to the Banyuwangi District Attorney.

The three suspects are IS (master), NW (Head of KMP Yunicee Branch), and RMS, Syahbandar Korsatpel BPTD Ketapang Port.

"We have delegated the file to the Banyuwangi Kejari. This delegation was directed at the AGO. All three are located in Banyuwangi, so the handling of the file was also transferred to Banyuwangi," said Kasidik Korpolairud Baharkam Polri AKBP Nurhadi, Tuesday, September 14.

During the examination, it was revealed that the KMP Yunicee had sunk due to overloading. The ship's load limit should only be 35 tons. However, at that time the ship to Gilimanuk port was carrying a total weight of more than 229 tons.

"The three suspects are responsible for the incident. The suspect RMS as the porter is suspected of participating in the case. It is suspected that he was negligent because he did not carry out his duties and functions properly," he said.

However, two other suspects, IS and NW, have not yet been arrested. Because both are civil servants (PNS).

"Not suspended, just not detained. Because, in order to continue to carry out their duties and functions," he explained.

Meanwhile, Kajari Banyuwangi, Mohammad Rawi, revealed that the transfer of case files from the National Police Headquarters to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) had been accepted. Prosecutors will study the file to determine its completeness.

"It has been received by the prosecutor, later it will be studied first to be declared complete or not," he said.

Rawi emphasized that if the files were declared complete, the detention of the three suspects in the KMP Yunicce sinking would depend on the prosecutor. "Depending on the prosecutor, if the three have to be detained, they will be detained," he said.

Later the trial will be held at the Banyuwangi District Court. "All the processes must be in Banyuwangi. If the P21 file will be registered with the Court for trial," he said.
