Three Perpetrators Of Police Car Burning In North Sumatra Arrested

MEDAN - Three perpetrators of the attack and the arson of the Perbaungan Police personnel car from the Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) Resort Police, North Sumatra were arrested by the police.

The Sergai Police Chief, AKBP Robin Simatupang, said the identities of the three arrested perpetrators were ST (33), MIT (26) and AS aka slender (33).

"Another person with the initials I alias Penger (40) is still being chased," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 13.

The police chief said the case of burning a police personnel car occurred on February 28, 2020, at around 02.30 western Indonesia time at the victim's residence in Neighborhood VI, Tualang Village, Perbaungan District, Sergai.

The incident began when Perbaungan Police personnel arrested a drug syndicate named U with the initials U, a resident of Naga Lawan Village, who was a colleague of the three perpetrators.

Disappointed with the arrest of their colleague, the perpetrators AS and I ordered the perpetrators of MIT and ST to burn the police car. The two perpetrators then set fire to the officer's car.

"The US gave a reward of Rp5 million to its members for burning our members' cars," he said.

After the incident, the police conducted an investigation and managed to arrest the three perpetrators.

"The three perpetrators are also drug syndicates," he said.

From the results of the interrogation, he said, the motive for the burning of the police personnel's car was based on hurt because his colleague was arrested.

"All three are threatened with Article 187 to 1e, 2e Jo 55, 56 of the Criminal Code of 12 years in prison and a maximum of 15 years in prison," he said.
