Two Papua Kiwirok BPD Employees Were Evacuated To Sentani After KKB Set Fire To Their Office

JAYAPURA - Two employees of the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) Kiwirok Cash Office, Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua were evacuated directly to Sentani after their office caught fire.

"It is true that two BPD Papua employees have now been evacuated using an AMA plane," said BPD Papua Operational Director Isak Wopari, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 13.

From the reports received, there are three employees at the BPD Papua cash office in Kiwirok. But one of them was in Oksibil.

That's why only two employees were evacuated to Sentani and now the office that was built by the local government of Gunung Bintang after the previous office was burned down a few years ago, has been scorched again.

With the incident, all BPD Papua employees were temporarily withdrawn to Oksibil for an indefinite period, said Wopari.

Meanwhile, Dandim 1715 Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf. Christian Irreuw separately suspected that the perpetrators of the burning of a number of public facilities were KKB led by Lamek Tablo.

Previously, the KKB led by Lamek Tablo had exchanged fire with the security forces on duty in Kiwirok.

One soldier from Infantry Battalion 403/WP who is a member of the border security task force was injured due to being hit by a rebound in his right arm, but his condition is stable.

"It is true that Prada Ansar was injured in his right arm, but his condition is stable," said Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Irreuw, who was contacted from Jayapura, added that the KKB also burned down residents' houses.

Residents were temporarily secured at the TNI and Polri posts in Kiwirok.
