Gibran Praises Anies-Riza For Handling COVID-19 In Jakarta, PDIP: Mas Gibran Should Focus On Assignments In Solo

JAKARTA - PDIP responded to the praise of the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, regarding the handling of COVID-19 in the capital.

According to the chairman of the PDI-P DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat, praise is a natural thing. In fact, he said, the criticism was also well-intentioned.

"People praise it well, good work is praised well, criticism is also good," said Djarot, Monday, September 13.

However, said Djarot, this does not mean Gibran's praise for Anies for building political communication as an entry point to become the Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.

Djarot instead suggested that Gibran should focus on his responsibilities as Mayor of Solo. This is because electoral issues, especially Pilkada, are not his business.

"There will be simultaneous elections. My suggestion is that Mas Gibran should focus on completing his assignment in Solo. Don't think about all kinds of things, don't think about going to Jakarta or Central Java," said Djarot, who is also a member of Commission II of the DPR.

Previously, the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, praised the performance of Governor Anies Baswedan. He admitted that he always gave an example of DKI Jakarta every time a meeting discussed the handling of COVID-19 in his area.
