JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, has the opportunity to become a cabinet minister of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin government after declaring himself to join the coalition. The reason is that the position of leadership of a political party becomes the capital for Zulhas to 'take a position' if he is offered a ministerial seat

"Usually the chairman of the party that will take (minister, ed), is usually like that. For example, Gerindra with Prabowo, Golkar with Airlangga. It doesn't have to be the chairman, but the chance for the president is bigger because he is the one who decides," Ujang told VOI, Sunday, September 12.

According to the Director of the Indonesia Political Review, apart from Zulkifli Hasan, Soetrisno Bachir also has the opportunity to become a minister of PAN.

"But it depends on the compromise of the PAN elite, who will be promoted or proposed," said Ujang.

Ujang assessed that it would not be in vain even if President Jokowi did a cabinet reshuffle just to accommodate PAN, it would not. The reason is, reshuffling the cabinet with or without replacing a new minister is extraordinary, the rhythm of Jokowi's ministerial performance will still remain the same.

"Like last December, the reshuffle to replace the positions of ministers who were affected by corruption, also rotated several ministers and shifted just a little. It also didn't change the minister's performance orchestra either," said Ujang.

It should be, added Ujang, that ideally the cabinet reshuffle should also be based on the minister's performance evaluation. Because after all, he said, presidential assistants were entrusted with the job to get accountability.

So, who is the person who deserves to be replaced and replaced? Ujang admitted that he was still seeing the dynamics.

"I don't know who will be replaced yet, but the reshuffle is to accommodate PAN," he said.
