JAKARTA - Deputy Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Chaidir, revealed the motive of two officers from the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. to extort a driver who brought a group of residents to the vaccination site.

Based on the results of the investigation report (BAP), individuals with the initials SG and S extorted only because they were greedy to get extra money. In fact, said Chaidir, their salaries as civil servants are sufficient.

"This is a motive of personal interest. This is just greed, greed. Even though the sustenance given as a DKI civil servant is quite good", said Chaidir when contacted, Wednesday, September 8.

Therefore, these two Transportation Agency officers were relieved of their duties or non-jobs. During their release, they receive training.

"The person concerned is relieved from his daily duties of managing traffic on the road. They will be drawn into coaching, to tasks that are not strategic in nature for 1 year", said Chaidir.

In addition, the two Transportation Agency officers also received a 30 percent cut in regional performance allowances for 9 months. Then, they cannot receive promotions for 1 year.

This is stated in Government Regulation Number 53 of 2010 concerning Civil Servant Discipline.

"So in conclusion, the two individuals were given moderate disciplinary sanctions, according to PP 53 of 2010", said Chaidir.

Previously, it was reported that a bus containing a group of poor citizens who were going to participate in the vaccine was reportedly intercepted by Jakarta Transportation Agency officers in front of ITC Cempaka Mas, Central Jakarta. The group was about to be vaccinated at the Sheraton Media Hotel, Gunung Sahari Street, Sawah Besar.

Chairman of the Jakarta Citizens Forum (FAKTA), Azas Tigor Nainggolan, said the group was blackmailed by two Transportation Agency officers who intercepted the group.

"The two Jakarta Transportation Agency officers named S. Gunawan and Heryanto insisted on asking for IDR 500,000. If the driver did not give the IDR 500,000 to the officers, the bus would be towed by the Jakarta Transportation Agency", said Tigor.

The results of the BAP Transportation Agency stated that the person who carried out the extortion was SG. Meanwhile, S was not directly involved but also received the extorted money from SG.
