Take IDR 1 Million Profit From NTB To NTT Crossing Truck Driver, 2 Ticket Brokers Arrested By Police

LOMBOK - Police have arrested two people who are suspected to be brokers of KM Egon tickets for the Lembar Port crossing route, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to Waingapu, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

West Lombok Police Chief, AKBP Bagus S. Wibowo, explained that the alleged ticket brokering with relatively high tariffs was revealed when officers monitored the development of the situation at Pelindo III Lembar Port, on Tuesday, September 7 yesterday.

"The high ticket price that has to be paid with a significant difference has triggered a protest by truck drivers headed to Waingapu, NTT", Bagus said when confirmed from West Lombok Regency, Antara, Wednesday, September 8.

He said that the actions of several individuals who deliberately increased ticket prices made the drivers feel disadvantaged. The difference from the normal ticket price is relatively much more expensive, reaching IDR 1.5 million.

The price of KM Egon cruise tickets sold online for medium-sized trucks is around IDR 4.3 million. In the hands of brokers, tickets are sold for up to IDR 5.6 million.

"For small-sized vehicles, the ticket price is actually IDR 2.5 million, by brokers it will increase to IDR 4 million", he said.

Bagus added that not only was the ticket price high, but it was also exacerbated by the delay in the ship's departure schedule.

"The departure schedule does not match the tickets that have been purchased or departed, it should be September 10, 2021, but it has been postponed to September 19, 2021", he also said.

To maintain the conduciveness of the Pelindo III Port area, he said, two people suspected of being ticket brokers have been secured to the West Lombok Police. The two people who were arrested had the initials MU and JH.

Both are residents of Serumbung Hamlet, South Sheet Village, Sheet District, West Lombok Regency.

"It has been handed over to the West Lombok Police Satreskrim, to be processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions", said Bagus.
