Bobby Nasution Says Mardohar Has A COVID-19 Handling Strategy For Medan City

JAKARTA – Medan City's efforts to lower the PPKM level 4 to level 3 continue to be carried out. The strategy to realize that target and deal with COVID-19 is already owned by the Acting Head of the Health Service (Kadinkes) Dr. Mardohar Tambunan.

"I emphasize that this change is to accelerate the handling of COVID-19. Kadinkes has a strategy from data collection to efforts to suppress the spread of cases," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution in Medan, Friday, August 3, as quoted by Antara.

He also wants the status of the capital city of North Sumatra Province to be lowered from level 4 to level 3, even though Medan City has entered the orange zone.

The mayor admitted that the Medan City Government wanted to answer the wishes of parents who asked their children to return to school face to face.

"We are optimistic that Medan City will drop to level 3 so that residents can carry out activities, one of which is the desire for face-to-face schools," explained Bobby.

The Acting Head of the Medan City Health Office, Dr. Mardohar Tambunan, explained that the strategy included reducing COVID-19 cases starting from the environmental level or the red and orange zone areas.

"We involve the sub-districts, Babinkamtibmas, Babinsa, and the Health Office to go directly to each neighborhood to ensure the progress is carried out in the community," he said.

He continued, his party was further developing a centralized isolation place to separate confirmed COVID-19 people according to the level of their symptoms

In addition, he continued, adding human resources both analysts, "tracing" and testing due to these three fields became obstacles in handling COVID-19.

"Our target is that all Medan residents get vaccine injections. The availability of vaccines in Medan is still sufficient," said Mardohar.
