JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is ready to provide protection according to the mechanism for victims of harassment at the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI). However, LPSK waits for victims or their legal representatives or law enforcement officers to report to LPSK.

"LPSK is concerned about the MSA incident that occurred in a state house (KPI) where the perpetrator is suspected to be a person employed by the state and this incident took a long time and was repeated," said Deputy Chairperson of LPSK Maneger Nasution, in a statement to reporters, Friday, September 3.

LPSK, continued Maneger, is also considering being proactive by visiting the victim to explain the importance of the presence of the state to protect the person concerned.

"LPSK will explain the rights of victims," he said.

For now, LPSK entrusts the police to process the case in a professional and transparent manner.

"And avoiding things that have the potential to harm the victim or will become a victim again," said Maneger.

Meanwhile, the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) decided to release all suspected perpetrators of bullying and harassment from all activities at the agency's office. In total, there are seven suspected perpetrators who have been temporarily disabled as KPI employees.

Central KPI chairman Agung Suprio said this step was taken by his party in order to follow up on alleged cases of sexual harassment and bullying that occurred in the work environment of the Central KPI.
