Combustible Materials That Make The Furniture Factory Fire In Cilangkap Bigger

JAKARTA - Smoke and fire can be seen rising in a furniture factory, Jalan Basuki Pulau Harapan, RT 07/06, Cilangkap Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta.

Head of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman said the fire was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. As a result of this incident, there were no casualties or injuries.

"It may be suspected that it was due to an electrical short, but later let the police follow up," he told reporters, Wednesday, September 1.

From observations at the location, the location that caught fire was a two-story furniture factory. Materials that are in the location are flammable so that the fire is getting bigger.

"This is a semi-permanent building, this is a furniture business. It's approximately 300 meters wide," said Gatot. The fire was extinguished by 15 East Jakarta firefighters.

"Now, the fire has been extinguished, but half of the factory is black because it was burned," he said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, officers were still cooling down at the site to ensure that the sparks did not re-emerge.

"Now it is in the cooling process," he said.
