MAKI Attempts To Find A Copy Of The Decision Of The KPK Council Before Reporting Lili Pintauli To The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman, admitted that he was trying to find a copy of the decision of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) before reporting KPK Deputy Chair, Lili Pintauli Siregar.

This report relates to the fact that Lili contacted the litigants, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor, M Syahrial. He is a suspect in the alleged bribery case of buying and selling positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government.

"(MAKI, ed) is still trying to request a copy of the Council's decision for study material", Boyamin told VOI via text message, Wednesday, September 1.

He said that his party would indeed conduct a study before reporting Lili to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police, as stated some time ago.

"Not yet (reported, red). Still being studied", said Boyamin.

For information, MAKI stated that it would report Lili Pintauli if she was found to have violated ethics due to abuse of authority for personal interests and dealing directly with litigants.

This report is based on Article 36 of the KPK Law which reads: "KPK leaders are prohibited from having direct or indirect relationships with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK for any reason".

Previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board found Lili guilty and violated the code of ethics because she was in contact with the litigant, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor, M Syahrial.

Lili was declared to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abusing the influence of the KPK leadership for personal interests and dealing directly with parties whose cases are being handled by the KPK as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph 2 Letter b and Supervisory Board Regulation No. 2 of 2020.

For his actions, Tumpak Hatorangan et al imposed severe sanctions in the form of cutting his basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months.

Two things weighed on Lili so that she was sentenced to this sentence. Lili Pintauli is said to show no remorse for her actions and does not set an example and role model as a KPK leader.
