JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Province has entered into the implementation of PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) Level 3 from August 23 to 30, 2021. This means that DKI has been allowed to hold limited face-to-face learning (PTM) in schools.

Head of the Public Relations Sub-Division of the DKI Education Office, Taga Radja Gah, said that his party had discussed plans to reopen schools. Taga said DKI will hold PTM starting Monday next week.

"It is planned for Monday next week. We just discussed preparations. Because I convey this to educate the public, we will hold PTM by prioritizing children's health", said Taga when contacted, Tuesday, August 24.

Next week, there will be 613 schools that will hold PTM in Jakarta. In detail, as many as 85 schools have held PTM trials since April 7, 138 schools on June 9, and an additional 372 schools will join PTM next week.

Taga said the opening of the school next week will be carried out with a limit of 50 percent of the student's capacity to study in class. PTM is held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Furthermore, Taga said PTM can only be followed for those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Considering that so far, more than 90 percent of teachers, education personnel, and students in Jakarta have participated in the COVID-19 vaccination.

If they have not been vaccinated, they will still take online distance learning (PJJ).

"Those who have not been vaccinated for one reason or another, are welcome to study at home, while hopefully COVID-19 will be completed in this republic," said Taga. "Because this is also an important note because if we tolerate those who have not been vaccinated, joining PTM, it is precisely the few who are worried that they will become the new spreaders of COVID-19", he continued.
