Schools In Bogor Can Learn Face-to-face Starting Tomorrow

JAKARTA - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin has allowed schools in Bogor Regency, West Java to hold face-to-face learning (PTM) starting Wednesday, August 25.

"PTM can be implemented after the regent's regulation is signed, today I will sign it immediately", said Ade Yasin, after reviewing student vaccinations, in Lido, Cigombong, Bogor, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, August 24.

The chairman of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force stated that all schools were allowed to hold PTM, after Bogor Regency had Level 3 status in the extension of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the period August 24 - September 6, 2021.

However, every school holding PTM must comply with the requirements set by the COVID-19 task force, namely implementing health protocols with 50 percent of class capacity for elementary and junior high school education, and 33 percent of class capacity for early childhood education.

Ade Yasin said the policy regarding the permitting of PTM was by the provisions of the central government after the status of the agglomeration area was reduced from level 4 to level 3.

"The provisions for the implementation of Level 3 Restrictions in Bogor Regency will be regulated in detail in the Bogor Regent's Decree", said Ade Yasin.

He stated that he had conducted a limited PTM trial before the second wave of COVID-19 transmission. The trial, which took place from March 9 to April 10, 2021, went smoothly. The reason is, there were no schools that were found to be clusters of COVID-19 transmission, although some schools were still found to have not implemented strict health protocols.

He mentioned that the limited PTM trial carried out at that time was based on three legal grounds, namely the Decree of the Three Ministers Number 516 of 2020, Bogor's Perbup Number 60 of 2020, and Bogor's Perbup Number 15 of 2021.

At that time, there were 170 schools out of 232 schools that proposed face-to-face learning, consisting of 29 public elementary schools, 24 Islamic Madrasah (MI), 28 junior high schools, 18 Madrasah Tsanawiah (MTs), seven Madrasah Aliyah (MA), 32 high schools and 32 vocational schools.
