Unscrupulous Employees Of The Kudus Investment Office Are Suspected Of Scandal, Withdrawing Rp100-200 Thousand To Manage Land Status

KUDUS - The Kudus District Prosecutor's Office, Central Java conducted an investigation related to allegations of illegal levies (extortion) in the management of changes in land status at the local Regional Investment and One-Stop Service Office.

The status of the land was originally intended for agriculture to become a place of business or settlement.

"So far, we have summoned seven people, both from related agencies and from the community, who applied for a permit to change land status from green for agriculture to yellow," said the Special Crimes Section of the Kudus District Attorney Prabowo Aji Sasmito in Kudus, Antara, Monday, 23 August.

He admitted that previously there were people who were sick so that the examination to ask for information was delayed, but now all of them have been questioned because they are all cooperative.

The alleged extortion case is related to licensing that should be free, but must pay to unscrupulous employees. The value is also small because it ranges from Rp100 thousand to Rp200 thousand.

Even if there is a fee, then the payment is no longer in cash, but non-cash because there is a system prepared in order to minimize potential violations.

The authority of the Investment Service and One-Stop Integrated Services, he said, was obtained since 2019 after a delegation from BPN.

Regarding the plan to summon the head of the service, he admitted, there is no plan for summons, while those who have been summoned have been called from the ranks of the heads of fields to the lower ranks.

"The results of the provisional information, extortion occurs because people ask to pay for it. We remind people to also understand that when the service is free, you shouldn't pay," he said.

He hopes that supervision will be improved and tightened so that similar cases do not happen again.
