Bekasi Residents Are Panicked Seeing Object Similar To Bomb, The Gegana Metro Police Team Conducts Inspections

BEKASI – Residents of Caman Village, Jakasampurna Village, West Bekasi were suddenly panicked to learn that there was a suspicious object that was suspected to be an improvised bomb. The police officer who received the report immediately dispatched the Gegana Police Metro Jaya team to analyze the objects found in the residents' residential trash cans.

"The Gegana team is still conducting an analysis before evacuating the suspicious object", said Bekasi City Police Chief Commissioner Armayni, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 23.

It was said that the suspicious object consisted of cables and an LCD screen mounted on the outside. The suspicious object was found by residents around 07.00 a.m. local time.

Until this news was revealed, the Gegana team was already at the location. Officers dressed in full personal protective equipment (PPE) are also looking directly at the object placed in the blue barrel.

Local residents are prohibited from approaching and asked to maintain a safe distance of at least 200 meters from the police line that has been installed.

Armayni could not confirm whether the suspicious object was a bomb or not. Her party is still waiting for the results of the analysis of the Gegana Team of the Polda Metro Jaya.

"We can't confirm it yet, but it almost resembles the assumption and is currently being detected by the Gegana Team", she said.
