SEMARANG – The rise of fraud cases using the social gathering mode, has made the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Iqbal Alqudusy, appealed to the public to be aware of the rise of fake social gatherings that occurred in a number of areas in this province.

"Before investing or participating in the social gathering, make sure the information is clear and correct," said Iqbal quoting Antara, Sunday, August 22.

He asked the public not to be easily tempted by the benefits offered. According to Iqbal, many people take advantage of the public's negligence in investing.

"Dig up as much information as possible, because once a fraud has occurred," he said.

Previously, according to him, hundreds of people suspected of being victims of fake social gatherings reported to the Salatiga Police.

The two suspected fraudsters who have cost residents billions of rupiah have reportedly fled and are not willing to take responsibility.

The police, he continued, are still pursuing those involved in the fake investment.
