MEDAN – Joint officers conducted a swab test for visitors to cafes and restaurants during a raid on the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Medan City, North Sumatra.

"Joint officers carried out swab tests on workers and visitors from cafes who were still determined to serve meals on the spot from the time limit specified during the PPKM implementation," said Head of the Ops Unit of the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Commissioner Heriyono in Medan, Sunday, August 22.

He said that this action was a decisive step taken in enforcing health protocols in the city of Medan to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"This is in accordance with the directions from the Governor of North Sumatra and the Mayor of Medan. For violators of health procedures, an antigen swab test is immediately carried out by officers. If it is reactive, it is taken to centralized isolation (isoter)," he said.

For this reason, he appealed to the entire community to continue to apply strict health protocols and to be vigilant when in crowds.

The health protocols implemented are wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and limiting mobilization and interaction.

"To all elements of society, it is hoped that they will remain obedient and obedient to the rules and policies that apply during PPKM Level 4 in order to suppress the level of spread of COVID-19, especially in the city of Medan," he said.
