Police Said, ITB Student Who Died In The Boarding House Pure Suicide

BANDUNG – The police confirmed that the death of ANH, a student of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in a boarding room, was pure suicide. Head of the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) Grand Commissioner Adjutant Rudi Tri Handono said ANH died by hanging herself in her rented room (boarding house) on Cisitu street, Bandung City, West Java.

"Positive hanged himself, he prepared a rope, the rope was found outside the boarding house," said Rudi quoting Antara, Sunday, August 22.

Rudi said that ANH was found dead in the early hours of Sunday. It was last known that he had met his colleagues on Saturday, August 21, the night. After being found dead, Rudi said, ANH kept a piece of paper with an apology written on it.

"He wrote on a piece of apology paper and prepared things," said Rudi.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bureau of Communication and Public Relations of ITB, Naomi Haswanto, confirmed that ANH is a student of ITB, Master of Civil Engineering Study Program (S2) ITB batch 2018, Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FTSL).

"The deceased has studied at ITB for 3 years (6 semesters), and is in the stage of compiling a thesis," said Naomi.

Naomi said, ANH is a student from Madura who lives temporarily (kost) in the Cisitu Lama area, along with several colleagues who are also students of Civil Engineering ITB.

Currently, said Naomi, the body is in the RSHS and under the management of the deceased's family who live in Bandung. Based on the latest information, the bodies will be brought and buried in their original area in Pamekasan, Madura.
