Minister Of Religion Publishes SE Activities In Houses Of Worship During PPKM Extension Period

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, has reissued Circular Letter Number 24/2021 regarding the implementation of religious activities in places of worship during the extension of the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) which is valid until August 23, 2021.

"This Circular Letter is a further effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as provide a sense of security and comfort to the community in carrying out religious activities and implementing the 5M health protocol in places of worship during the PPKM period", said Minister of Religion Yaqut, in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, August 20.

The Circular Letter regulates several provisions based on leveling and risk zoning in Java and Bali, PPKM Level 4 in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, and Papua, as well as PPKM Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1 by zoning criteria.

Places of worship located in regencies/cities in Java and Bali with the criteria of Level 4 and Level 3 can hold worship/religious activities in a congregation, at most 50 percent of the capacity or most 50 people.

Then the Level 2 criteria area can hold congregational worship/religious activities with a maximum number of pilgrims 75 percent of the capacity or a maximum of 75 people.

Places of worship located in regencies/cities in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara and Papua with Level 4 criteria can hold congregational worship activities with a capacity of 25 percent or a maximum of 30 people, but the implementation of worship/religious activities at home is more optimized.

However, if you are in an RT (Neighborhood Association) environment that is declared a red zone or there are more than five houses with positive confirmed cases for seven days, temporarily do not hold congregational worship activities until the area is no longer declared a red zone.

Then, places of worship located in regencies/cities with Level 2 and Level 1 criteria, PPKM arrangements with zoning criteria are carried out with a number of provisions.

For areas that are in the green zone, religious activities at places of worship can be carried out with a congregation of 75 percent of capacity and a maximum of 75 people. While the yellow zone is only 50 percent or 50 people. The red and orange zones are at most 25 percent of the capacity or at most 25 people.
