People's Consultative Assembly Plans Amendment To The 1945 Constitution Related To PPHN To Be Discussed In Early 2022

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the People's Consultative Assembly, Jazilul Fawaid, said that the discussion regarding the planned amendment to the 1945 Constitution was limited to make the basis for the State Policy Principles (PPHN) only to be discussed in early 2022. there is a kind of working group to propose amendments", said Jazilul, Thursday, August 18.

However, Jazilul admitted that he did not know the exact time of the implementation. He only said that the formation of the working group had been included in the schedule of the People's Consultative Assembly leadership.

"I don't remember exactly, but it's already there, the schedule is there. It starts with proposing amendments related to which article, which faction (proposed the amendment)", said Jazilul.

Previously reported, Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, said the function of the PPHN (Points of State Policy) would be determined within the deadline or target (time table) by Article 37 of the 1945 Constitution.

"There is a timetable according to Article 37 if later the large flow of political parties and all stakeholders agree, the first thing to do is to carry out a circular of support that must be signed by 1/3 of the People's Consultative Assembly members out of 719 members", said Bambang Soesatyo after opening the commemoration of Constitution Day and 76th Anniversary of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday, August 18.
