COVID-19 Update As Of August 19: 22,053 New Cases, Accumulated 3,930,300 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 214,410 specimens were examined with the result that there were 22,053 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,930,300 people and active cases are 334,752", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, August 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 29,012, bringing the total to 3,472,915 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,492 people and a total of 122,633 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 3,266 cases and a total of 663,421 cases. Followed by East Java which has 3,019 new cases with a total of 366,461 cases. Central Java has 1,377 new cases and a total of 458,689 cases. Then, DI Yogyakarta has 1,175 new cases and a total of 142,075 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 6,680 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 3,715 recovered cases, DI Yogyakarta with an additional 2,121 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 1,804 recovered cases.

No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 30,010,686.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 21.62 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 275,810 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
