DENPASAR - A video of a Caucasian in Bali has gone viral on social media. These Caucasians regularly buy birds from sellers and then release them.

In the video, Caucasians who are shirtless and wearing glasses buy several birds in the Ubud area, Gianyar Regency, Bali. Caucasians release the purchased birds.

The video was originally uploaded to Gede Budarsana's account and became a netizen conversation.

"This Caucasian regularly buys birds next to my shop and is released, almost every Sunday releasing dozens of birds in the hope that their place is in the wild, not in a cage. May all beings be happy", explained Gede Budarsana's account.

Meanwhile, the Head of Administration for the Bali Conservation and Natural Resources Center (BKSDA), Prawono Meruanto highly appreciates the Caucasians' actions for releasing the birds confined in cages.

"If we look at it together, Caucasians who are currently viral on Facebook who are Caucasians releasing several types of birds into nature, for us from the Bali BKSDA it is a very commendable act by freeing animals that are confined in fairly small cages size that usually lives in the wild. So it's appreciation, as long as there is a sale and purchase between them", said Meruanto, when contacted, Thursday, August 19.

Meruanto said the birds released by Caucasians were endemic to Bali. However, according to him, it would be better if the animals kept by the community or animals that have been living in cages for a long time should be introduced to the environment before being released into the wild.

"Don't let the birds go wild, they're not native to Bali or don't exist in Bali, that will be an impassive species that will affect the lives of the birds in Bali", he said.

However, his party still appreciates the Caucasians, for liberating living creatures that should live in nature.
