PPKM Level 4-3 Java-Bali Extended Again Until August 23

JAKARTA - The government has decided to extend PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) level 4-3 again in Java and Bali. The extension is valid until August 23.

"Based on the evaluation carried out at the direction and instructions of the president of the Republic of Indonesia, PPKM levels 4, 3 and 2 in (Java) Bali will be extended until August 23, 2021. In the application of PPKM questions in the next week there will be additional city districts entering level 3 as many as 8 regencies/cities, bringing the total regencies and cities included in level 3 and 2 to 61 regencies/cities", said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Pandjaitan, at an online press conference, Monday, August 16.

Luhut called the extension of the PPKM as an effort to maintain momentum in handling COVID-19.

In his presentation, it was said that the mobility of the people in Java-Bali was mostly back to normal

“On the one hand, it shows the economy is recovering quickly but there is a risk of an increase in cases in the next 2-3 weeks. So we all have to be super careful in dealing with this and must follow health protocols, and this was also related to the vaccine issue", said Luhut.
