COVID-19 Update As Of August 12: 24.709 New Cases, 36.637 Recovered Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 153.717 specimens were examined with the result that there were 24.709 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3.774.155 people and 412.776 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, August 12.

Today's recovered cases increased by 36.637 cases, bringing the total to 3.247.715 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1.466 people and a total of 113.664 people.

The province with the newest cases was in Central Java with 5.300 cases and a total of 434.196 cases. Followed by East Java which has 3.161 new cases with a total of 348.903 cases. West Java has 1.868 new cases and a total of 648.609 cases. Then, Bali has 1.353 new cases and a total of 91.251 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Central Java with an additional 7.456 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 4.519 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 4.142 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 2.770 recovered cases.

No province has reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 28.740.077.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 26.37 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 302.070 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, there are 51.894.566 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 25.744.850 people who have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
