PADANG - Bukittinggi City Police, West Sumatra, has delegated the handling of three private schools suspected of conducting face-to-face teaching and learning processes that violate PPKM (Restrictions on Community Activities).

The Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Satake Bayu, said that after an investigation was carried out, it was suspected that there had been a violation of regional regulations, then it was delegated to Civil Service Police Unit.

"The Bukitinggi Police handed over this case on Tuesday, August 10 around 14.00 WIB to the Civil Service Police Unit Investigator for further processing", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 10.

He said the investigation of this case was carried out after the information report Number: LI/355/VIII/2021 regarding the alleged existence of several private elementary schools conducting face-to-face teaching and learning processes (PBM) during PPKM levels 3,2 and 1 in Bukittinggi City.

According to him, on Monday, August 9, investigators examined the three principals, namely Al Islah Islamic Elementary School Principal, Fitri Hamida, Excellent Islamic Elementary School Principal, Susriyanti, and Al-Azhar Islamic Elementary School Principal, Muhammad Harist.

From the information, the school confirmed that since the new academic year 2021, it has held several face-to-face activities with students, but it is not a teaching and learning process (PBM) but only consultation.

"The consultation is about lessons that are difficult for students to understand and are sent online", he said.

The school is aware of the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 29 of 2021 and the Circular of the Mayor of Bukittinggi Number: 360/259/BPBD-Bkt/VIII/2021

In addition, the school has received an appeal from the Head of the Bukittinggi City Education and Culture Office so that teaching and learning activities must be carried out online.

"They admitted that due to a lot of pressure from parents and students, the school took a policy to carry out consultation activities by dividing the number of students and arranging the day and time of the meeting by implementing strict health protocols", he said.
