JAKARTA - KPK's Director of Investigation (Dirdik) Setyo Budiyanto explained the latest news regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. Setyo Budiyanto said that Harun is currently abroad.

The former PDIP candidate is a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the appointment of members of the DPR RI elected in 2019-2024 who have had DPO status since January 2020.

"Based on information, it is suspected that the person concerned (Harun) left Indonesia or was abroad," said Setyo Budiyanto in a virtual press conference, Sunday, August 8.

Setyo Budiyanto said that Harun's information no longer existed in Indonesia became the basis for Indonesia to send a letter requesting a red notice to the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia. Currently, the red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku has been issued.

"This is a form that we are serious, one of which is making efforts through coordination with the NCB, because to anticipate. The leadership (KPK) has said before, this effort is a step to find out the whereabouts of the person concerned," said Setyo Budiyanto.

Furthermore, Setyo Budiyanto said that several countries had coordinated with the NCB. However, that information is temporarily internal.

Previously, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri said a number of neighboring countries had responded to the issuance of red notices against former PDI-P legislative candidate Harun Masiku, who is currently a fugitive.

However, he did not specify which countries had responded to the red notice issued by NCB Interpol on Friday, July 30.

"Several neighboring countries have responded to the search for the suspect HM. I don't want to say which countries, but they have already responded," said Firli on Monday, August 2.
