The Occupancy Of COVID-19 Isolation Room In Jakarta Is Now 42 Percent, Will The PPKM Level Be Lowered?

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the bed occupancy ratio (BOR) specifically for COVID-19 in Jakarta was decreasing, along with the decline in cases.

"Alhamdulillah, the BOR or occupancy used for isolation beds is 4,409, the number has dropped again, it's 42 percent," Riza told reporters, Sunday, August 8.

Not only that, but ICU BOR is currently also used 1,198 percent or 63 percent filled. Riza said, the decrease in BOR has reduced the burden on health workers.

"The burden on health workers who have been helping the community in DKI Jakarta and other areas for more than 1.5 years has decreased. Hopefully, this is a good sign that DKI Jakarta is decreasing," said Riza.

Not only that, the number of active cases in Jakarta decreased by 2,611 cases, so the number of active cases to date is 10,176 people who are still being treated or isolated.

Then, the total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today are 829,850 cases. Of the total number of positive cases, a total of 806,924 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 97.2 percent, and a total of 12,750 people died with a mortality rate of 1.5 percent.

Then, will the implementation of PPKM Level 4 which will be in Jakarta until August 9 will be reduced to level 3? Riza admitted that he could not confirm yet. Because, it is the authority of the central government.

"The central government will make a policy whether PPKM Level 4 is continued or lowered. Of course, the provincial government is waiting for the central government's decision," said Riza.

"So, we are ready to carry out whatever the policy is. Continued, reduced, or relaxed we will implement it as best we can," he added.
