COVID-19 Update As Of August 7: Positive Cases Increase By 31,753, The Lowest In The Last 3 Days

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive COVID-19 cases for today, Saturday, August 7 at 12.00 WIB with a record addition of 31,753 cases.

This number is the lowest in the past three days although it is still at the level of 30,000 cases per day.

The report also revealed that the daily cure rate increased by 39,716 people with a mortality rate of 1,588 cases.

In detail, the largest increase in positive cases occurred in Central Java with a record 5,340 cases. Followed by East Java with 3,438 cases, West Java with 3,004 cases, DKI Jakarta with 2,008 cases, and East Kalimantan with 1,786 cases.

Meanwhile, for the areas with the most recovery, West Java contributed 4,919 people, Central Java 4,832 people, DKI Jakarta 4,562 people, East Java 4,529 people, and East Nusa Tenggara with 3,005 people.

Then, the highest death rate was in Central Java with 399 cases, East Java with 322 cases, East Kalimantan with 86 cases, and West Java with 79 cases.

In terms of vaccination, it was recorded that 49,801,823 people received the phase I vaccine with a special addition today as many as 410,765 people.

Then, for the second phase of the vaccine, it is known that it has been distributed to 23,345,264 people with the addition of 453,440 people. Meanwhile, the vaccination target targeted by the government for the current period is 208,265,720 doses.

Recently, the government through the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, confirmed that the provision of the third stage of the vaccine is currently reserved for health workers. Giving the vaccine, which is often called a booster, can mix two different types of vaccines.

"It can be mixed (types of vaccine)", said Budi when stating to reporters in Ancol Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Saturday, August 7.
