Anies Targets Third Dose Of Vaccination For Healthcare Workers To Be Completed By The End Of August

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan targets the third dose or booster vaccination for health workers in the capital to be completed by the end of August 2021.

This he said when reviewing the implementation of the booster vaccination at the Tarakan Regional General Hospital, Central Jakarta.

"We are targeting the end of the month, all medical personnel can get this third dose of vaccine", said Anies, Friday, August 6.

Anies said there were 124,000 health workers on duty in Jakarta. However, currently, the Moderna vaccine, which is dedicated to booster vaccines for health workers, is only 102 thousand.

He said the implementation of booster vaccination for health workers began on July 24 at the vertical hospital and continued on Monday this week at the hospital.

Based on the reports received, health workers who received the Moderna vaccination had a post-immunization co-occurrence (AEFI).

"Some feel hot, sometimes even feel their arms are sore, they don't function normally. So, usually, there is a break (work) of 1 to 2 days", said Anies.

Therefore, Anies said that the schedule for vaccination of health workers is done by arranging the division of labor in hospitals.

"That's why the vaccine process is carried out in stages, so that hospital services continue to run because there is enough medical personnel working", he explained.
