The East Java Police Investigate Other Perpetrators In The Obscenity Case Of Dozens Of Students In Selamat Pagi Indonesia School

SURABAYA - The East Java Police have confirmed that they will investigate and develop cases of sexual violence at the Selamat Pagi Indonesia (SPI) school in Batu City. Through the examination of suspect JE, it will be known whether there are other suspects in the case.

"So, we will see first from the results of later developments (whether there are new suspects or not)", said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, confirmed, Thursday, August 5.

After JE was named a suspect, Gatot said the investigators would then summon JE for an investigation. With this investigation, JE will be questioned for the sake of developing cases of sexual violence against his students.

"Later, it will be followed up with an investigation, then for an examination of the person concerned", he said.

Gatot refused to speculate regarding other potential suspects in the case. According to Gatot, this potential will be known after investigating the suspect JE, and various other statements from the victims.

"There will also be a comparison of data from victims and others. Therefore, we will first see the results of later developments. What is clear is today's results, investigators have declared the person concerned as a suspect", said Gatot.

Previously, the Head of Sub-Directorate of Youth, Children and Women IV, Directorate of General Crime Investigation of the East Java Police, AKBP Ali Mahfud, confirmed that his party had conducted a case of alleged sexual violence at the SPI Batu school. His party has also received complete materials from the complainant, including from the National Commission for Child Protection.

"Yes, JE's status has increased from witness to suspect", said Ali.
