Central Java - The Banyumas Regency Government, Central Java, has made the Tiara Hotel in Purwokerto a quarantine place for pregnant women exposed to COVID-19 with mild to moderate symptoms.

"This is because yesterday the tendency for pregnant women to increase fatality, so we took the initiative that specifically for pregnant women we make isolation (quarantine, ed.) centered here, at the Tiara Hotel," explained Banyumas Regent Achmad Husein while visiting the quarantine area in Purwokerto. , Between, Thursday, August 4th.

The special quarantine location aims to save pregnant women affected by COVID-19 with mild to moderate symptoms. If the symptoms experienced are severe, he said, they can be immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment.

"So, I ask pregnant women in Banyumas if they are exposed to COVID-19, don't hesitate, don't be afraid to report it, it will be brought here later, it's fun. This is in order to save pregnant women," he emphasized.

According to him, the Banyumas Regency Government will continue to open quarantine places for pregnant women until the situation subsides.

Furthermore, the Regent said the Banyumas District Health Office would also hold a COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women starting next week.

"The vaccines that are allowed to be used for pregnant women are currently only Sinovac and Moderna, others are not allowed," he said.

In addition, he said, pregnant women in Banyumas will also undergo an antigen test to anticipate the transmission of COVID-19.

He said if the results of the antigen test were positive but there were no symptoms, the pregnant woman had to undergo self-isolation but had to meet the conditions.

However, when undergoing self-isolation and then there are symptoms, he continued, the pregnant woman will be taken to the Tiara Hotel to undergo quarantine.

"If the symptoms are more severe, they will be taken to the hospital. At the hospital, if the symptoms are mild, they will be brought back here," he emphasized.

At the Tiara Hotel, the bed capacity is 125 units. "Yesterday there were eight people, but one gave birth, one has gone home," said Achmad Husein.
