South Kalimantan Police Reveals Smuggling Of Methamphetamine In Pillows

BANJARMASIN - The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police revealed a case of 112.37 grams of crystal methamphetamine stored by dealers in Banjarmasin in pillows to trick officers.

"The suspect with the initials SR (41) was arrested at his home along with evidence of four packages of methamphetamine hidden in a sleeping pillow in his room", said Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police, AKBP Meilki Bharata, in Banjarmasin, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

The illegal business run by the suspect has been monitored by the police for a long time. But officers are waiting for the right time to catch the dealers so they can no longer dodge, he said.

Until finally the Opsnal Team of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Police received information on the whereabouts of the suspect who was allegedly storing crystal methamphetamine at his house in the Kelayan Street B area of Banjarmasin.

A search was carried out, but the suspect did not cooperate in informing the police of the existence of the evidence sought by the police, he said.

However, the officers did not give up, after a long search, the crystal methamphetamine was found tucked into the sleeping pillow in the suspect's room.

"Now our suspect is detained and charged with Article 114 paragraph (2), subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) of the RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics", said Meilki representing the Director of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Tri Wahyudi.

The police are still developing a network that controls the suspects because it is strongly suspected that there are quite a lot of illicit goods that have the capital owner.
