Managers Of Balongan Indramayu Beach Raise The White Flag

INDRAMAYU - Managers and merchants at Balongan Indah Beach, Indramayu Regency, West Java, raised a white flag to signify that they had given up after nearly a month of tourist attractions being closed due to the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"The existence of this PPKM makes us unable to survive anymore because for a month we have to close", said Balongan Beach Manager, Indramayu, Akso Surya Darmawangsa, quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 1.

The white flags marked with surrender were hoisted by managers and merchants on Saturday, July 31, starting from the entrance of Balongan Indah Beach to the stalls.

Akso said the white flag was raised because during the PPKM period, their place of business was completely closed, so there was no income at all.

According to him, the flag that had been flown has now been lowered again, after the Indramayu Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"We are very affected because there is no income at all because the tourist attraction is completely closed", he said.

Akso explained that the absence of this income made his party confused, even though the cost of maintaining tourism objects and necessities of life still had to be spent.

He also hopes that there will be the best solution from the government to address the conditions currently being felt by the tourism object managers.

"We really hope that PPKM will not be extended again so that we can rise again and have income", he said.
