TV Broadcast Switches To Digital, Thousands Of Poor Households In Tanjungpinang Get STB

TANJUNGPINANG - A total of 6,088 poor households in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands will receive set top box (STB) equipment assistance for the first stage of digital TV broadcasting from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo). with the Law on Job Creation in the Post, Telecommunication and Broadcasting Sector, as well as Government Regulation Number 46 of 2021.

"This assistance is to ensure that all people, especially poor households, can enjoy digital TV broadcasts," said Ruli Friady, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 30.

For the recipients of this first phase of assistance, he said, it was given to as many as 15 regencies/cities in Indonesia, one of which was in Tanjungpinang.

The prospective recipients have previously been proposed by the Social Service according to the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) with decile criteria one, two and three

"This STB aid must have been distributed before August 17, 2021," said the Head of the Tanjungpinang City Communications and Information Office.

As for the technical distribution, he continued, it would soon be reunited with the relevant agencies and agencies, whether according to the mechanism for delivering social assistance, such as through the post office or to urban villages.

"We will immediately convey the results of this meeting to the Mayor of Tanjungpinang. After further technical instructions and assistance arrive, they will be immediately distributed to the recipients," he said.

In addition to Tanjungpinang City, in Riau Islands the STB assistance was also given to poor households in Bintan Regency, Karimun Regency, and Batam City.
