JEMBRANA - The joint SAR team is searching for one person who fell from a ship around the waters of the Bali Strait.

Information about this incident was received by the Denpasar Search and Rescue office (Basarnas Bali) from the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) in Gilimanuk, Jembarana Regency, Bali. The passenger fell from the Dharma Fery I ship with the route Ketapang, Banyuwangi, East Java to Gilimanuk.

"We received the report last night, at 19.45 WITA from Mr. Alfian," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, Gede Darmada, Friday, July 30.

The passenger, named Rama Pratama Putra (17), was probably carried away by the current to the south. A search was carried out but the results were nil until it was finally reported to the Gilimanuk LPS.

"Basarnas Bali mobilized a rescue team from the Jembrana SAR Post and Buleleng SAR Post by deploying 1 RIB unit which was on standby in Gilimanuk, besides that it was also assisted by the Banyuwangi SAR Post," said Darmada.

Meanwhile, the Banyuwangi Basarnas Post Coordinator, Wahyu Setya Budi, said that there were passengers who saw the victim deliberately jumping into the sea.
