After The Violence Of Air Force Personnel In Merauke, Commander Of The Manuhua Air Base Reminds Members To Respect Human Rights

PAPUA - Commander of the Indonesian Air Force Base Manuhua in Biak, First Marshal of the TNI, Donal Kasenda, said that he always reminded all members to uphold human rights.

"We as commanders always remind our members to always uphold human rights in carrying out their duties", said Kasenda in Biak, West Papua, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 29.

To avoid cases of violence against civilians like what happened in Merauke, he also emphasized that his members did not act and acted outside the rules.

"Every Indonesian Air Force personnel on duty at the Manuhua Air Force Base are always reminded not to take any actions that are against the law", Kasenda said.

Separately, Commander of the Indonesian Air Force Base Silas Papare, TNI First Marshal, Budhi Panther Achmadi, added that he had held a meeting with the community and religious leaders in Sentani.

Two Indonesian Air Force personnel who were directly involved in the violence against civilians in Merauke have been prosecuted and the Commander of the Indonesian Air Force Base JA Dimara has been removed from his position.

Furthermore, the Commander of the Air Operations Command III of the Indonesian Air Force, Air Marshal Bowo Budiarto, who is based in Biak is scheduled to arrive in Merauke, Friday, July 30, to lead the handover ceremony for the position of Commander of the Air Force Adara Base JA Dimara, Aviation Colonel Herdy Budiyanto to his successor.
