JAKARTA - Members of the South Jakarta Metro Police arrested a printing service entrepreneur with the initials J and ID for falsifying the results of the COVID-19 "polymerase chain reaction" (PCR) swab test.

Head of the South Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Achmad Akbar, said that J took the action for economic reasons.

"Two actors, namely, ID have no work. Meanwhile, J does have a computer printing service business, although it is of a medium-scale", Achmad said in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, July 29.

However, Achmad did not go into further detail about the type of business run by suspect J.

Achmad added that the perpetrator was still related to another suspect for falsifying the PCR test, namely AR, who is currently being processed at the Metro Jaya Police.

"In a figure, the perpetrators are ordinary people whose motives are economic. Regarding the syndication, he is indeed connected with another suspect, the initials AR is currently being investigated at the Metro Jaya Police, I think he is being detained there", said Achmad.

 

Previously, the police arrested two perpetrators in Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on Monday, July 26 for allegedly falsifying the results of the "polymerase chain reaction" (PCR) swab test for travel requirements.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 263 and Article 268 of the Criminal Code regarding falsification of letters or making fake letters with a maximum threat of six years in prison.
