PDIP Party Gives Notes On The COVID-19 Pandemic Handling, Alluding To Synchronization Of Population Data

JAKARTA - PDIP Party Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto revealed a number of notes from his party regarding the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the things he mentioned was the synchronization of population data that needed to be improved to facilitate the distribution of social assistance (bansos).

"The same data will be the key to ensure the success of the social assistance program that has been prepared", said Hasto in a written statement to reporters, Thursday, July 29.

PDIP Party also hopes that officers in the field can ensure that government assistance is right on target and accepted by people who need it.

Another note is that a COVID-19 vaccination awareness campaign must be implemented. However, this campaign must be accompanied by the acceleration of vaccine provision.

"We hope that the vaccines that are already available will be confirmed to be effective starting from procurement, distribution, until they are injected into residents", said Hasto.

Next, the party bearing the white muzzle of the bull also encourages research and innovation to find drugs that can cure COVID-19. This is important considering that Indonesia has various natural resources that can be used as medicines.

"One more thing, the PDIP Party encourages education about healthy lifestyles that strengthen the body's immunity", said Hasto.

Good and planned communication, he continued, is the key for government officials to implement it. Moreover, the public needs to know all the details to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

PDIP Party invites all Indonesians to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes following the Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) recommendations that have been conveyed by President Joko Widodo until August 2.

According to Hasto, all restrictive activities that have been arranged by the government must be followed together. Moreover, this kind of restriction does not only occur in the country but also in other countries due to the spread of the Delta variant which makes the COVID-19 pandemic condition worse.

In addition, Hasto also invited all parties to give appreciation to the community, especially medical personnel and health workers as well as volunteers who are on the front line. "Also for the mutual cooperation that the community continues to show", said Hasto.

He said PDIP Party would be actively involved with the people in dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. "The PDIP Party's Central Executive Board (DPP) is intensely updating the situation and instructions to the Three Pillars of the Party regarding the implementation of the directives of the Chairperson, Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri in handling COVID-19", said Hasto.

"The party continues to move in front of presenting the face of humanity, all party cadres from the management in the structure, who sit in executive positions, to the legislature, must come down to help the people", he added.

Finally, Hasto also said that his party paid attention to the August 17 anniversary which will soon be held. Commemoration of this independence day is a tradition for the whole community.

"However, we cannot deny the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we will continue to monitor the situation and in time will issue special instructions regarding its implementation", he concluded.
