Trial Via Mobile, Defendant Of Mother And Child Murder In East Aceh Demands The Death Penalty

BANDA ACEH - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the East Aceh District Attorney's Office has charged two defendants with the death penalty for the murder of a mother and child. The two victims were found horribly dead under the bed of their house.

The Public Prosecutor stated that the defendant M Rizal was legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code, Article 338 of the Criminal Code, and Article 76 D of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. Meanwhile, the defendant Rabusah violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code and Article 338 of the Criminal Code for murder.

“The article violated by each defendant is different, because the defendant M Rizal Sitorus (killed) the child. And they committed murder in the same incident," said Public Prosecutor Harry Arfhan while reading the demands at the trial at the Idi District Court, East Aceh, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.

Public Prosecutor Harry Arfhan accompanied by M Iqbal Zakwan read the demands in an online or virtual trial with a panel of judges chaired by Khalid and accompanied by Ike Ari Kesuma and Reza Bastira Siregar, each as member judges.

The two defendants, namely M Rizal (39) and Rabusah (46). Both are residents of Simpang Jernih East Aceh. The two defendants attended the trial at the Class IIB Idi Penitentiary, East Aceh, where they had been detained.

After listening to the prosecutor's demands, the defendant through his legal advisor stated that he would file a memorandum of defense. The panel of judges continued the trial this week with the agenda of hearing the memorandum of defense of the two defendants.

Previously, victim Siti Fatimah (56) and her daughter Nadatul Afraa (16) were found dead in a tragic condition at their home in Simpang Jernih Village, Simpang Jernih District, East Aceh Regency, Monday, February 15.
