JAKARTA - The Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force (Sultra) recorded that residents in the province died from being infected with SARS-CoV-2 to 324 people after Monday added 12 cases.

Spokesperson for the Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force La Ode Rabiul Awal in Kendari, Monday, said the additional 12 cases of death due to COVID-19 in the province were spread across five regencies/cities.

The trend of cases of death due to COVID-19 in Southeast Sulawesi is increasing, where for 26 days starting from July 1-26 2021, the local Task Force recorded an increase in the number of deaths by 88 people.

The distribution of COVID-19 patients who died in Southeast Sulawesi included 18 people in Buton Regency, 20 Muna, 34 Konawe, 22 Kolaka, 27 South Konawe, 12 Bombana, Seven Wakatobi, 19 North Kolaka, 13 North Buton, two North Konawe, 15 East Kolaka, and Konawe Islands one person.

While positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded at 15,374 people after today's increase of 114 cases, then cases recovered to 12,185 after today's increase of 126 people.

Rabiul reminded the public not to be careless in implementing the 5M health protocol, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, diligently washing hands, avoiding crowds and reducing motility in order to suppress the increasing number of cases.

"We must not be careless to discipline health protocols when carrying out our daily activities. Including let's join the vaccine so that we can suppress and break the chain of spread of COVID-19 in our area," he said.
