20 Minute Dine-In Meal Time During PPKM Level 4, Entrepreneur: I'm Sorry, People Eat In A Hurry

JAKARTA - A number of restaurant entrepreneurs questioned the 20-minute time rule for dine-in visitors during the easing of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) for the period 26 July-2 August 2021.

One of the entrepreneurs of a simple restaurant in West Jakarta, Tuti (44) assesses the rule of eating a meal for 20 minutes on the spot will not be effective.

"Well, it's a pity, why do people eat in a hurry?," said Tuti in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 26.

According to Tuti, such PPKM easing regulations will actually make it difficult for customers or restaurant owners.

In addition, Tuti as the owner of the restaurant is also reluctant to ask customers who have eaten food for more than 20 minutes to leave the place.

In addition to being reluctant, Tuti will also find it difficult to monitor customers who eat more than 20 minutes.

"For example, if this customer has 20 minutes, this one is still 10 minutes, this one is only a few minutes. It's difficult, right," he said.

The same thing was also said by Mujiati (52) as the owner of a small restaurant in the East Jakarta area.

According to her, the rules for warning customers to keep their distance and wear masks inside in places to eat are sufficient.

"Maybe if you are given a warning that you have to keep your distance, wear a mask, wash your hands, that's enough," said Mujiati, adding that the health protocol rules had been implemented since the COVID-19 pandemic, including preparing a handwashing place, "hand-sanitizer" liquid, and others.

Mujiati hopes that the government can provide a better solution so that restaurant entrepreneurs can continue to serve customers during the relaxation of PPKM.

For information, President Joko Widodo has extended PPKM Level 4 with a number of notes for the period from July 26 to August 2, 2021.

During that time, the government began to allow restaurant entrepreneurs to receive customers to eat food on the spot, but only for 20 minutes.
