PADANG - The Padang City Government through the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has imposed the abolition or whitening of the Land and Building Tax (PBB) fines in commemoration of the 352nd anniversary of the City of Padang on August 7, 2021.

The head of the Padang City Bapenda, Al Amin, said that the whitening of fines will take effect from July 15 to September 30, 2021.

"During this whitening period, the public does not need to pay a tax penalty, but only pays the tax principal," he explained in Padang, dilansi from Antara, Saturday, July 24.

Al Amin said that the cancellation of the PBB fines started from the 2008 tax fines to the 2021 tax fines.

"The compensation given by the Padang City Government is also in commemoration of the Birth Day of the City of Padang, which will coincide on August 7 and the Indonesian Independence Day," he said.

Al Amin said, with this whitening, it is hoped that the community will immediately pay the land tax that has been in arrears so far.

On the other hand, in order to make it easier for people to pay taxes, the Padang City Government also makes an application for an electronic Rural Urban Land and Building Tax Payable Tax Return (e-SPPT PBB-P2).

To facilitate services to the community, the Padang City Bapenda made a breakthrough by using the PBB-P2 e-SPPT application.

Taxpayers can download the PBB-P2 e-SPPT themselves and it is equipped with an electronic certificate in collaboration with the National Cyber Password Agency (BSSN) and the Electronic Certification Center (BSE) to maintain its validity," he said.

"With all the conveniences and services provided to taxpayers by the City of Padang Bapenda, of course there is no longer any reason to delay the payment of their tax obligations," he said.

In addition, the Padang City Government through Bapenda has established cooperation to pay taxes with Banks in Padang City, namely Bank Nagari, BNI, Bank Syariah Indonesia and PT Pos to make it easier for the public to pay local taxes.

"It's enough through cellphones that people can see and know how much PBB will be paid, and they can even pay it directly through the bank that has been determined," he said.

He stated that the PBB target in 2021 was IDR 78 billion and until the second quarter of 2021, IDR 34 billion or 44 percent had been realized.

"Hopefully, with the application of the PBB P2 e-SPPT in the third quarter, 75 percent of the PBB can be achieved," he said.
