Holds Dangdut Orchestra During Wedding Party, Two Sampang Residents Fined IDR 1 Million

SAMPANG - The Sampang District Court was found guilty and imposed sanctions by paying a fine of IDR 1 million to two residents who were proven to have violated health protocols during PPKM.

"The person concerned is proven to have violated health protocols because he held a dangdut orchestra at a wedding reception held in Bates Hamlet, Tadden Village, Camplong District", said the panel of judges handling the case, Syivia Nanda Putri in Sampang, East Java, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

He explained that the guilty verdict was handed down by the Sampang District Court at the trial for minor crimes (Tipiring) Sampang District Court on July 19, 2021, the day before Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijrah.

The two residents are the hosts who have a celebration and the owner of the orchestra.

Both were proven to have violated Article 7 of the Sampang Regent's Regulation Number 53 of 2020 concerning Health Protocols and Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19 in Sampang Regency.

The two defendants stated that they accepted the verdict and the guilty verdict handed down by the sole judge who handled the case and apologized in court for the mistakes they had made.

Separately, the Sampang Police Chief, AKBP Abdul Hafidz, stated that he deeply regretted the dangdut orchestra performance at a wedding in Taddan Village in the midst of the current pandemic.

The police chief explained that his party had conveyed socialization to the public so as not to hold any activities that could potentially cause a crowd. However, some residents hold activities secretly.

The Head of Police said that the findings of the activities of residents who held a dangdut orchestra performance in Tadden Village, Camplong District, Sampang, started from a joint operation activity held between the Sampang Police and the Sampang Regency Government's COVID-19 Task Force team.

At that time, the operation targeted villages, and it was discovered that there was a dangdut orchestra performance in Tadden Village, Camplong District.

"From the operation that we carried out, we examined two people, namely the host and owner of the dangdut orchestra, then the files were submitted to the Sampang District Court", he explained.

The police chief further emphasized that in the future, the operation of disciplinary enforcement of health protocols will be increased, considering the spike in new cases of COVID-19 in Sampang is increasing, even now Sampang has entered the red zone category in the spread of the coronavirus.
