New Problems In The Emergency PPKM Period Ahead Of Iduladha 2021

JAKARTA - New problems emerged during the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). The problem is related to the journey ahead of Eid al-Adha 2021

Recently, the police cracked down on 36 Inter-City Inter-Provincial (AKAP) buses. They depart and pick up passengers not through the terminal during Emergency PPKM.

"There are 36 inter-city buses that have been successfully secured by a combination of friends from Ditlantas Metro Jaya Police and Land Transportation. The 36 vehicles are route violations," said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus to reporters, Saturday, July 17.

In fact, according to the regulations, several terminals have been designated as departure points for all buses during the Emergency PPKM period. The goal, so that officers can check the conditions of travel.

Passengers or people who want to travel must be equipped with a certificate of antigen swab, vaccines, and so on.

Adding that the Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that the dozens of buses actually carried passengers at the three shadow terminals.

In that way, the bus crew can be said to facilitate the passengers so that they are not checked by officers. In fact, the way they do it makes the potential spread easier.

"This bus does not depart from the terminal, departs at the shadow terminal, such as Pondok Pinang, Rawa Bebek, Krendang, and so on. So the passengers do not carry these provisions, do not carry vaccine cards, antigen swab letters, and so on," said Sambodo.

Therefore, the Directorate of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police will hold a special operation ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The target is for title travel and buses that do not apply the Emergency PPKM rules.

"We will also carry out special operations against illicit travel," said Sambodo.

In addition, Sambodo appealed to people who want to travel to refrain from doing so. Especially to the bus and travel crew. Therefore, strict action will be taken aimed at suppressing the spread of COVID-19.

"So please friends who want to travel, refrain from using illicit travel. Please use the official terminals that have been set by the government," said Sambodo.

In this special operation, a number of toll roads will be blocked. So, officers can check the requirements and completeness of the passengers, for example, information on negative antigen swab results and vaccines.

"We urge this, right before Eid al-Adha, all toll roads leading to West Java, Central Java and East Java are closed and inspections are carried out on all vehicles," said Sambodo.
