Fiddling With The Papuan Provincial Government Top Leadership

JAKARTA - The Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Province Secretariat, Ridwan Ruikutun, officially serves as the Acting Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Papua Province, replacing the previous official, Dance Yulian Flassy.

As reported by Antara, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe witnessed firsthand the handover of the tasks of the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province from the old officials to the new ones marked by the signing of the minutes, at the Jayapura State Building on Wednesday, July 14.

Lukas Enembe said that the handover of the task of implementing the duties of the regional secretary was to prevent inequality in the wheels of government. Ridwan was prepared to expedite the affairs of the National Sports Week (PON).

Meanwhile, Dance Yulian Flassy, who has served as regional secretary for 3 months, was not present at the inauguration.

"We thank you because as Papuans we must love," said Lukas.

Previously, Dance had served as an Acting governor based on the letterhead of the Ministry of Home Affairs dated June 24, 2021, with Number T.121.91/4124/OTDA.

The letter was issued because the province of Papua has a leadership vacuum because Lukas Enembe is undergoing treatment, while Deputy Governor Klemen Tinal died.

Now, the focus of the Papua Provincial Government is to choose the vacant deputy governor seat. Papua Governor Lukas Enembe asked the public not to be provoked by the news that developed on social media regarding the filling of this deputy governor position.

Lukas Enembe hopes that the candidate for deputy governor (wagub) can assist in his duties and be in line with the thoughts of regional heads, and even be able to secure siding with the Orang Asli Papua (OAP).

"I want a deputy governor who can secure policies, as well as translate the governor's vision and mission for the benefit of all the Papuan people," said Lukas Enembe in a press release.

According to Lukas, his party wants a deputy governor who can see Papua in its entirety that the Earth of Cenderawasih is rich in natural resources.

"Papua is rich in natural resources, so it must be managed properly, then the deputy governor will be able to help with government tasks properly," said Lukas, who is also the chairman of the Papuan Democratic Party DPD.

Previously, the results of the plenary meeting of the Democratic Party of Papua Province in the context of proposing the name of the candidate for deputy governor of Papua resulted in the names of the six best party cadres bearing the star of mercy.

The six best party cadres are Ricky Ham Pagawak (Central Mamberamo Regent), Yunus Wonda (Vice-Chairman I DPR Papua), Usman Wanimbo (Tolikara Regent), Tonny Tesar (Yapen Islands Regent), Yeremias Bisai (Waropen Regent), and Natalis Tabuni (Regent of Intan Jaya).

A spokesman for the Governor of Papua Muhammad Rifai Darus added that Lukas Enembe asked the public to remain calm in following the dynamics of the consolidation of coalition meetings related to filling the position of deputy governor.

"The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, hopes that the community will give the coalition the opportunity to take steps according to the applicable regulations so that the final result will not be wrong," Rifai said.
