Overpayment Is A Hallmark Of Bureaucracy During The Anies Baswedan Era, Eko Kuntadhi: This Other Area Is Corruption

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government under the leadership of Anies Baswedan has overpaid several times. Finally, based on the results of an audit by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the provincial government disbursed Rp415 billion to PT Transjakarta BUMD for the 2018 and 2019 fiscal years.

Of course this is not the first time this has happened. Previously, the DKI Provincial Government did the same thing in purchasing fire extinguishers by the DKI Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat).

Based on the 2019 DKI Provincial Government financial report, BPK found four packages of funds for the procurement of fire engines with expenses that exceeded the price of the equipment. The total overpayment was recorded at around Rp6.5 billion.

This overpayment has also become a public concern, including Social Media Activist, Eko Kuntadhi. On the Cokro TV Youtube channel, Eko called this the 'speciality' of Jakarta led by Anies Baswedan. In other areas, this case has a great chance of being included in the realm of corruption, while in Jakarta it is a different story.

"In the case of the same case in other regional governments, it seems like it's called corruption, while for Jakarta, specifically for the capital city, it's called overpayment," said Eko, quoted Wednesday, July 14.

Eko added, in addition to Transjakarta or the procurement of fire trucks, overpayments also occurred in the on-grid rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) construction project in public schools. The project carried out by the DKI Jakarta Industry and Energy Agency in 2019 was overpaid by around Rp. 1.2 billion.

"Once again, DKI BUMD has benefited from the carelessness of the local government. The money that was disbursed from the government treasury goes to local government-owned companies. It seems that this overpayment seems to be a hallmark of the regional government bureaucracy in Anies Baswedan's era," said Eko.
